The making of “Edupunks go Digital Vikings” – where did it come from? #edcmooc

After publishing my final assigment Digital Artifact for the eLearning and Digital Culture MOOC, I decided to try and provide a background of the creation process. These are some ideas I think are closely related:

Being quite a DIY fan and edupunk (check my retro gaming T-Shirts above), has made me experience somehow many of the topics suggested in the course. I also consider myself a tech-oriented fellow who likee to keep in touch with nature (I’m a newbie vegetable homegrower too!). I had also been closely related to the netaudio scene since its early stages so I’m familiar with Electronic and Experimental music, Creative Commons,  Open Culture, Copyleft and Sahring Economy.

Remix or mashup all these attitudes and you could get something like:

“Edupunks go Digital Vikings” – a digital artifact for #edcmooc

After a few failed attempts (happy to be human!), I finally feel quite comfortable with my final Digital Artifact. It’s a short animation. Me and my conscience debate my creativity skills while winking to several topics featured in the course.

The Text-to-Speech tool in the Xtranormal service I used, can sound a bit weird so I posted the script just in case you don’t get any of the parts… You can also see other stuff related to the MOOC in this course farewell pos which highlights most of the topics I suggest in the digital artifact, (most of it is written in catalan, but google can go for a quick and crappy translation if you wish. Check the sidebard to do so).

He estat 5 setmanes submergit en un curs telemàtic ofert per la Universitat d’Edimburgh i la plataforma titulat “eLearning and Digital Cultures”. Feia temps que no disfrutava tant estudiant.  Aquest és el meu article de comiat, una mena de síntesi entre els continguts del curs i algunes idees personals. La Monste Paradeda i la Mònica Castanyer són les responsables de Monprojects i porten anys integrant projectes TIC en les seves classes d’anglès. En el setè capítol d’Entre Profes: converses amb docents ens expliquen com s’ho fan i comparteixen  alguns exemples pràctics.

A la secció de recomanacions proposen el llibre “Flip you classroom” i les trobades de Ciberespiral i Moodle Moots. També suggerim un dels MOOCS (Massive Online Open Courses) de Coursera, el de eLearning and Digital Culture (#edcmooc).
